Broadview University Student Helps Patients at Utah Valley Hospital

Debra Anderson is a student in the veterinary technology program at Broadview University-Orem campus. During the Early Fall Quarter of 2012, she gave of her time and talents at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center where she assembled hygiene packets for patients in nDebra Anderson Orem Service Learning Projecteed.

With the help of Neways (the company she works for), Debra was able to acquire enough supplies to assemble and donate more than 75 packets to the hospital. This act of generosity and service will greatly help patients who are in need of items such as toothpaste, hand lotion, shampoo, conditioner, and lip balm.

The experience was invaluable to Debra, as she realized how many people are truly in need of basic essentials that most of us take for granted.

“People need help,” Debra said. “Whether it be hygiene products or mowing the lawn, clothes, food, or someone to talk to, someone out there always needs help. It made me feel good to help the community in this way.”
