What makes a charity bowling event more exciting? A friendly competition that involves the losing team wearing some, well less than attractive, dresses. What makes it even better? The possibility of the team of four men having to don the attire!
That is the challenge that was extended between a women’s and men’s team from Broadview University. They participated in the annual Bowl-A-Rama sponsored by the West Jordan Chamber of Commerce. The event is a fundraiser to benefit underprivileged children and allow them to shop with a fire fighter for back-to-school supplies.
It was a tight race, but in the end the women’s team pulled ahead to beat the men. And that mean the very unfortunate – the men wearing the dresses for all to see.
“Overall it was such a fun event,” said campus director, Mark Staats. “And it was nice to know that it was all for a good cause.”
But the men aren’t too distraught. The challenge has been extended for a rematch next year and they will be ready.
