June 16th, 2012 was Neighborhood Pit Bull Day, hosted by Best Friends Animal Society, Utah. Held at the Northwest Recreation Center in Rose Park, this one day event provided free vaccines, microchipping, spay/neuter vouchers and many other services to owners of Pit Bulls. An estimated 400 Pit Bulls were treated.
Pit Bulls are often a misunderstood breed. This great event provided information and attempted to “defuse the negative stereotype” associated with Pit Bulls. Broadview Orem Students and Faculty were on hand to assist in administering vaccines and other free services. Among the free services were free collar and leash exchanges, training tips, food and toy samples.
